Dyslexia Assessment in Mallorca
I provide full diagnostic dyslexia assessments in English for children, young people and adults in Mallorca. Assessments are carried out by an experienced specialist assessor with a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and result in a comprehensive diagnostic report with clear recommendations for education, study and support. Based in Es Capdellà, Calvià, I work with families and schools across southwest Mallorca and the wider island.
Full Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessments
A diagnostic assessment explores an individual’s pattern of strengths and difficulties and establishes whether the evidence supports a diagnosis of dyslexia.
The assessment considers reading, spelling and writing skills alongside relevant underlying cognitive and processing skills. Background information and educational history are also considered so that the findings can be understood in the context of the individual as a whole.
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed written report explaining the findings and providing clear, practical recommendations for appropriate support.
Who Can I Assess?
I provide dyslexia assessments for children, teenagers and adults, including students attending international and English-speaking schools in Mallorca.
I have extensive experience working with multilingual learners and young people who have been educated across different countries and educational systems.
Assessment for Exam Access Arrangements
Where appropriate, assessment findings can contribute to the evidence used by schools when considering access arrangements for examinations.
I regularly work with schools and families in Mallorca and understand the importance of considering both assessment evidence and a student’s normal way of working when access arrangements are being considered.
What Does a Dyslexia Assessment Involve?
A full diagnostic assessment looks at a range of areas to build a detailed picture of how an individual learns. This may include reading accuracy and fluency, spelling, writing, phonological processing, memory, processing speed and other relevant areas of cognitive processing.
Assessment is individualised according to age, educational background and presenting difficulties. Appropriate standardised tests are selected and the results are considered alongside background information, observations and educational history.
What Will I Receive?
Following the assessment, you will receive a comprehensive diagnostic report explaining the findings in clear language. Where appropriate, the report will confirm whether the evidence supports a diagnosis of dyslexia.
The report includes practical, individual recommendations for school, university, examinations, the workplace or everyday learning, depending on the age and circumstances of the person assessed.
