Who We Are

Dysl3xia is owned and managed by Anita Vince. We are an organization specializing in literacy and dyslexia support /interventions and conducting diagnostic assessments for specific learning difficulties, including examination access arrangements. At Dysl3xia, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited circumstances under which we may disclose it to others, and how we ensure its security.

Types of Data We Collect:

When a client or learner contacts Dysl3xia for specialist support or an assessment, we collect various information to facilitate our service provision. Any personal information received is processed in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) of May 2018, which requires registration with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). The information we collect includes:

  1. Personal Identifiers and Biographical Information: This includes details like date of birth.

  2. Contact Details: Such as home address, email address, and telephone number.

  3. Sensitive Personal Data: Information about the reasons for seeking an assessment, the nature of a disability or specific learning difficulty, prior support received, assessment data, notes taken during and after support or assessment sessions, or other interactions with the client or learner.

  4. Dates of Meetings: Records of meetings held with a client or learner.

  5. Family Details: Information about other family members with whom a client or learner, or their school/college/workplace, have granted us permission to liaise.

  6. Test Papers and Accompanying Information: These are securely stored within Dysl3xia premises. The final report is stored electronically and password-encrypted for six years. Test papers and accompanying information are safely disposed of following the assessment and completion of the report.

Why We Collect This Information:

We collect this information to plan and provide assessments or specialist support as requested by the client.

Who We Might Share This Information With:

Upon completion of the assessment report, it is emailed to the individual who commissioned the assessment. We do not share the assessment with third parties without written permission from the requester. Email threads containing information for the assessment are deleted.

On rare occasions, we may need to share test papers with Dyslexia Action as part of their Assessment Practicing Certificate Renewal Process.

Access to Your Personal Information:

You have the right to view, amend, or delete the personal information we hold. Please email your request to Anita Vince at info@dysl3xia.com. Note that requests to delete data relating to an individual will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but we may be unable to remove all assessment records or support notes for legal reasons.
