FAQ
-
What is the difference between a dyslexia screening and a full diagnostic assessment?
A screening is a quick, affordable way to see if your child may have dyslexia. A full diagnostic assessment gives a formal identification and a detailed report with recommendations for school and home.
-
At what age can my child be assessed for dyslexia?
Children can usually be screened from around age 6. A full diagnostic assessment is most reliable from age 8 upwards.
-
Do you provide assessments in English or Spanish?
I specialise in English-speaking students in Mallorca, particularly those attending international schools.
-
What happens in a dyslexia assessment?
Your child will take a series of structured tests in reading, writing, spelling, and memory. The process is supportive and child-friendly. You’ll then receive a full report with clear recommendations.
-
Can you help with exam access arrangements (extra time)?
Yes, I provide formal assessments that support schools in requesting exam access arrangements such as 25% extra time.
-
Do you work directly with schools?
Yes. I am happy to meet with SENCOs and teachers to discuss how best to support each student.
-
Where are you based?
I am based in Calvià, Mallorca, and work with families and schools across the island.
-
How do I book a screening or assessment?
You can contact me directly by email or phone. I’ll be happy to explain the process and arrange a suitable time.
